Unfortunately, emergencies happen without advance warning. Incorporating appropriate safeguards when establishing goals and milestones will help improve your odds of meeting or preferably beating your milestones due dates regardless of any unforeseen emergencies:
- Someone in your family WILL have severe issues to deal with
- The stock market WILL crash
- You and your significant other WILL have a major fall out
- You WILL have legal issues
- You WILL have major financial issues
- You WILL be laid off from work
It’s NOT if-it’s when! You know some if not all of these issues WILL occur in your lifetime – so be prepared! Plan ahead and train your mind. Assume they ALL will occur! If these issues never happen you’re that much further ahead in achieving your goals. Thinking and planning for worst-case scenarios is one of the best ways to achieve success in your personal and professional life! Also once you have planned for these worse-case scenarios, you get peace of mind. Worry occurs when you anticipate something negative but don’t have a handle in place.
This can even become a fun exercise and you can become quite creative in your solutions as you have the time to gather information and play around with different scenarios.
A catastrophe is only one if it’s never planned for appropriately. Don’t let yourself be surprised and thrown off guard.
